Embryo Transfer
Embryo transfer is a unique opportunity both for those interested in getting into the Straight Egyptian world and for those who are hoping to build their herd. The embryo transfer process is fairly simple.
1. A mare is bred
2. Before the embryo attaches to her uterus, the uterus is flushed with fluid and the embryo is caught by a veterinarian
3. The embryo is implanted into a surrogate mare, who carries the foal to term
The Tribunal Arabians team has birthed many foals via embryo transfer. We are conveniently located less than 10 miles from the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center, an equine veterinary facility, and its Hoffman Center, a world renowned breeding center, who have conducted all of our embryo transfers.
There are several advantages to using embryo transfers.
Currently, we are offering Daenerys and Amer Raadiyah for embryo transfer. For more information about the program, please email [email protected].
There are several advantages to using embryo transfers.
- It is much less expensive than purchasing a high quality Straight Egyptian mare outright.
- As Tribunal Arabians has organized their program, it gives the embryo purchaser great influence over the foal that they will be breeding - the purchaser is able to choose the mare and stallion, subject to approval.
- There is great flexibility in where the foal is born. After the pregnancy has been verified in the transfer mare, she may be moved to her new home and the owner may take part in the pregnancy and birthing process or the mare may stay at the Tribunal Arabians facility until the foal is born.
